We are excited to kick off our 2025-2026 program year with Kathy McNeil. Kathy is an international award winning quilt artist, author, pattern designer, art quilt teacher and judge.

WORKSHOP: Renske Helmuth - Renske’s Landscapes
Join our very own, world-renowned, Renske, to learn her technique to create beautiful landscapes.

GATHERING: October

STBA: October - Kim Caskey
Kim Caskey, a well known and sought after quilter, joins us for our October STBA day. Her topic is "How to Make Quilt Labels.

GUILD MEETING: October - Andrea Tsang Jackson
Andrea is a textile artist and quilt designer. After working in various design fields and settings ranging from architecture to museums, the quilting medium called to her.

STBA: November - Darcy Hunter
Darcy Hunter is a contemporary quilt artist based in Fredericton, N.B. She transforms fabric and thread into expressive landscape wall hangings, using her sewing machine as a paintbrush to craft intricate, vibrant compositions.

WORKSHOP: Barbara Pye - Scrappy Holidays
Scrappy Holiday is suitable for all skill levels and is great for sorting through your scrap bins!

GUILD MEETING: Edyta Sitar
We are excited to welcome Edyta Sitar to our November meeting for her presentation, “Reasons for Quilts”

WORKSHOP: Mystery Escape Room (Members Only)
What is an escape room? It is a fun virtual event where you will make a practical project by going into different Zoom breakout rooms which all have a host to help you work on a clue (step) to escape to the next room.

Kim Jamieson-Hirst of Chatterbox Quilts joins us today from Calgary. She will share her lecture, "Dresden Plate: A Creative Spin on Tradition".

GUILD MEETING: Melissa Marginet
We are pleased that Melissa Marginet will be with us in December for her trunk show, Get Your Motor Running. Melissa is a Canadian Quiltmaker, Author, Teacher, and Quilt Pattern Designer. She has published two books on walking foot, Quilting: Walking Foot Quilting Designs, and Edge-to-Edge Walking Foot Quilting Designs, and a pattern book: Building Blocks, as well as many patterns.

GUILD MEETING: Giuseppe Ribaudo (aka Giucy Giuce)
Giuseppe Ribaudo (aka Giucy Giuce) grew up in Long Island, NY. First generation Sicilian-American on his father’s side and second on his mother’s, his family lived with his maternal grandparents. His grandmother, a talented and prolific seamstress, remains a tremendous source of inspiration to Giuseppe to this day

We are pleased to have Terry Aske as our March speaker for her presentation, “My evolution as an art quilter - from raw beginner to award winner”. Terry is a Canadian textile artist, who has been designing and creating contemporary art quilts in her home studio since 1998.

Today Penny Domikis from Cabin in the Woods in North Carolina joins us to share her lecture: "Information Overload: Navigating the endless tips, tricks, books, blogs, patterns and products of the quilting world".

GUILD MEETING: Mary Pal
Mary is a Canadian textile artist best known for her cheesecloth portraits. Her work has been exhibited throughout the world and published in numerous books and magazine articles.

WORKSHOP: Sharon Fisher "Bugs In Stitches"
This is a handwork class. Join Sharon on an enchanting stitching journey where nature’s tiniest marvels come to life!

Playing with fabric and color has been Lori’s passion since she was a young girl. She began her journey as a “maker” in her early teens sewing her own clothing and then sewing bridal ensembles. However, once she found ‘quilting,’ she absolutely fell in love and hasn’t stopped creating quilts since the mid-1980’s!

We are pleased to have Susan Purney Mark as our June speaker, for her lecture,”On the Surface - Paint, Dye, Resists and More!” Susan is an award-winning textile and surface design artist, and resides and works on Pender Island, British Columbia, on the traditional and unceded lands of the W̱SÁNEĆ and Tsawout peoples. Her island is surrounded by ocean vistas, rich forests and abundant wildlife.
