Join us for our first STBA Day for the guild year. In the morning our speaker will be our own Glenda Dippel. Glenda will share her presentation on how to create the "Stumpwork Thistle".
She originally shared this presentation on our virtual cruise to the British Isles and Ireland in January 2026. She is back to share it again - for those who weren't able to experience it the first time - or for anyone wanting more help to complete it. Join Glenda to learn how to make this delightful thistle (3D). Skills will focus on applique, how to do the 3D thistle top, trapunto technique for the green part of the thistle, stitching the stem, quilting the thistle, etc. The completed project is about 7- or 8-inches square.
In the afternoon, our guest speaker will be Leanne Parsons, who joins us from Baie Verte, Newfoundland, Canada. Her presentation is called "WIPS-B-GONE: Let's Finish Some Quilts".
Her lecture is inspired by her annual WIPS-B-GONE challenge. In this 60-minute presentation, she offers practical tips and suggestions for bringing old projects across the finish line. Because nearly every quilter has unfinished projects tucked away, this lecture will appeal to quilters of all skill levels and styles. You will want to participate in this lecture to learn strategies for how to successfully complete more of those quilts waiting to be finished.
