We invite you to join us for our December 9th STBA day.
Our speaker in the morning is Andi Stanfield, from True Blue Quilts in Peoria, Arizona. Andi will share her lecture on “Monochromatic Quilting”. Andi is the owner of True Blue Quilts where she designs detailed, easy-to-understand instructions written for quilters at every skill level. She began teaching classes at local quilt shops, and soon realized that her style of quilting and teaching could encourage others to express their creativity in a tangible way.
Andi teaches classes in person or on-line. She has a very active youtube channel and she has authored two books - "Angle Play, the Easy Way" and "Monochromatic Quilts: Amazing Variety". In this lecture, Andi shares a trunk show of all of the quilts in her book "Monochromatic Quilts". This will include a rainbow of quilts ranging from simple to complex. All the quilts begin with the idea that there is an amazing variety in a single hue. Each colour represented in the book has it own quilt design. There is a mixture of techniques from traditional piecing to foundation paper piecing and applique. Join us to experience Andi's love of monochromatic quilts. You will be inspired to give it a try.
In the afternoon we are so excited to have Carola Russell from Carola’s Quilt Shop in Chilliwack BC present Scrap Happy and Fat Quarter Friendly. Her presentations have had many rave reviews! Carola will take you into her world of quilting and how she uses her scraps, fat quarters and precuts. Carola's techniques are amazing! She promises that you will want to head to your cutting table as soon as you log off.
Do you have scraps multiplying? Or do you simply want to sit down with a pile of fabric and start sewing. In this presentation Carola plans to entertain us with projects to make in a snap. Whether it’s an improvisational technique or a fast & easy shortcut, it is fun to make something without a big plan.
Hope you are able to join us for another fun day with quilting friends.
