STBA: November - Darcy Hunter

Darcy Hunter is a contemporary quilt artist based in Fredericton, N.B. She transforms fabric and thread into expressive landscape wall hangings, using her sewing machine as a paintbrush to craft intricate, vibrant compositions.

Drawing inspiration from her profound love of the natural world and her background in Biological Sciences, her representational fiber artworks capture the vivid colours, dynamic movement, and unique sense of place that define her surroundings.

Darcy's presentation today will be close to 1.5 hours in length. She will take us through her journey as an art quilter and will talk about her inspirations and techniques.

Darcy will also share her wide range of techniques that she uses to create her art quilts, and she will also demonstrate one of her abstract landscapes to give us inspiration to create our own!
